Starwood Hotels has effectively marketed its hotel brands, but how do they create a need to travel? Starwood executives conceived of Destination Starwood, a series of websites that sold the global locations in which their properties were clustered. To make this cost effective, a single content management system was needed that allowed each destination to manage their own promotions, local features and the properties themselves. To address the range of connection speeds around the world, the site was developed as both HTML and Flash, both controlled by the same CMS. one9ine contract Supercosm to develop the information architecture and user interface, the CMS and the dynamic pages that served the site as well as the systems administration for the multi-server hosting environment.
